Chanin Milnazik reached out to Jenn Grover in early May with an idea. She wanted to figure out a way to connect and give back to the nuCamp team. Together, they decided to set up a GoFundMe Campaign to raise money for a meal that would be shared by all those working at nuCamp.
We were able to chat with Jenn Grover about this idea and the motivation behind the campaign.
What inspired you to start this GoFundMe Campaign?
“I think we both sensed that the nuCamp owner community had a desire to connect with the folks at nuCamp, and each other, and have a way to express our gratitude for all that our nuCamp products allow us to do. When uCamp was canceled, we went ahead and set up the GoFundMe account.”
How did it feel once you surpassed the campaign’s goal?
“I do not think either of us were surprised. The nuCamp owner community is the best online community I have ever seen.”
The campaign had a goal of $3,000, which was quite a lofty target. Nevertheless, the nuCamp community got together to raise that amount within a single month! We’re so grateful to have such caring individuals make up our nuCamp family.
What was your plan for all the money that you were raising?
“Our goal was to provide a meal for the workforce at nuCamp and if there was money left over, to have that invested in a local charity in the Sugarcreek area.”
Why do you think the #nuCampFamily was so receptive to the campaign?
“I think some of the nuCamp mindset “we build people” spills over into the community and it was fun to just get the ball rolling and watch people jump on board. This community is marked by gratitude and a propensity to help each other, so this all flowed very naturally.”
We really do have the most amazing owners community. Where else will you find a group of people so excited to give back? Thank you to all of our nuCamp family for raising this money to allow our team to share in a delicious meal together.
Just as you continue to support us, we promise to always be there for you.
