Hi, I’m Mike with nüCamp RV and today I’m going to show you how to hook up your TAB to your vehicle.

Hooking Up Your Camper: Getting Started

First off you want to make sure that your hitch on your vehicle is right underneath the coupler. Once you have that lined up, we want to drop that coupler right on top of the ball and you need a two inch ball for all of our trailers. Once that’s lowered all the way down, you want to lock it into place, simply lift up, bring this forward, push down. If this does not lock all the way with your hand or you have a hard time with it, you can always take your foot, press down on top of it and it will lock right into place.

Hooking Up Your Camper: Final Steps

Next thing that you want to do is you want to take your safety chains and you want to attach those… And once you’re done with your safety chains, you want to put the pin inside the lock on your coupler – and how you do that is you raise the wheel. Once it’s off the ground, pull the pin out, take the pin, slide it through, lock it in place. Once that is done you want to hook up your lights. This is a seven point plug. You take this and you plug it into your vehicle. Once that’s plugged in you’re ready to go.

Hooking Up Your Camper: Tips

Two quick tips i wanted to show you:

  1. The first is for your cord where you plug in your lights. If you find that it’s too long and it’s actually dragging, you can eliminate this by unplugging, wrapping it around the hitch and then plugging it back in. As you can see it’s a little bit higher up.
  2. The other thing too, is for your safety chain. You might run into the same problem. To eliminate this, simply take the chain, give it about three or four twists and reattach it. And as you can see, it brought it up a little bit higher.

Hey thanks for joining me on this video on how to hook up your camper. If you have any questions, just give us a call here at nüCamp RV.
