Sleeping Soundly – the Froli Sleep System

Sleeping Soundly—The FROLI® Sleep System

Considering a TAB 400 or Cirrus Truck Camper for your RV road trips? One of the features that may have you scratching your head is the queen-sized FROLI® Sleep System. If you’re wondering what it is, how it works and whether it will fit your needs and preferences, the following Q&A should answer those questions!

What is the FROLI Sleep System?

The FROLI sleep system is a totally different type of sleeping experience. Instead of the conventional mattress/box springs arrangement in your home or the foam mattress on a hard base in many RVs, FROLI provides a unique sleeping surface. Its independent suspension design means that the bed adjusts to your body weight and movements as well as creating an articulated air-flow surface.

As explained on the Nickle Atlantic website (FROLI’s U.S. distributor), the unique design results in an orthopedically correct night’s sleep, so you awake the next morning ready for the day’s adventures!

As for where FROLI comes from, its homebase is Germany, which is where production takes place. But you don’t have to speak a foreign language to enjoy your FROLI!

What are the components?

The FROLI sleep system consists of three parts: the base grid, the interlocking springs and the foam mattress. Lay the individual grid elements on the bed platform and snap them together using the provided tool.

Then, set the highly flexible interlocking springs made of DuPont’s Hytrel® into position on the grid. This creates an “articulated air-flow surface”—techno-speak for allowing air to pass through this level—providing permanent under-mattress ventilation and reducing the potential for moisture build-up.

Finally, a foam mattress (3 inches thick for the TAB 400, 5 inches thick for the Cirrus) is placed on top and voila! Your FROLI bed is ready for a relaxing, restful sleep.

Want to see an installation in action? Watch Kara on the Everlanders YouTube channel install the FROLI in her camper. FROLI also has video that describes the features of the sleep system.

Note: With the TAB 400 and Cirrus, the  FROLI ‘Travel” System model comes already installed. The only adjustment you may need to make is to suit your specific support requirements. (See next question.)

Can I adjust it to fit my needs?

Unlike a traditional mattress/box-spring combination that has the same level of firmness from head to foot, the interlocking springs in the FROLI Sleep System flex independently providing independent suspension for maximum comfort. The system comes with a combination of regular and soft springs, and can be further customized by changing the distance between the springs.

Need more firmness? You can add tension clips in specific areas to increase the firmness of individual springs.

And if the bed sleeps more than one, the springs can be adjusted to match each sleeper’s preferences: firmer on one side and softer on the other.

What is the warranty?

The FROLI Sleep System has a manufacturer’s two-year warranty, plus Nickle Atlantic, the U.S. distributor of the FROLI, provides a 30-day money back guarantee in addition to the FROLI warranty.
